Indian Rummy: an independent beginner reference

Learn the combination task separately from Teen Patti.

Reference and scope

This guide follows Pagat’s Indian Rummy / Paplu description as a named learning reference. It does not establish the rule variant of every app.

The basic task

In the reference, 13 cards must form valid runs and sets, including at least two runs with at least one formed without a wildcard substitution.

A turn in context

Players draw from stock or the discard pile, then discard. The complete declaration and scoring provisions belong to the adopted rules.

Read a combination

A run is consecutive cards in one suit; a set uses equal ranks in different suits. K-A-2 is not a valid run in this reference.

Learn with a small sample

Sketch one possible group and identify the rule you need to check. A three-card group alone is not a complete 13-card declaration.

Keep the app separate

Find the actual Rummy mode and its instructions rather than applying a Teen Patti hand-ranking chart. The related-app overview explains why a shared app name is not a shared rulebook.
